LOP Full Form: Loss of Pay

Loss of Pay (LOP) is a salary reduction for time not covered by paid leave or another paid entitlement.

In simple terms

It may apply when an employee has exhausted available leave, takes unauthorised leave or has a leave type designated as unpaid. The calculation method should be documented in the company's leave and payroll policies.

Example

An employee with no remaining paid leave takes two unapproved days off; the corresponding amount may be marked as LOP in payroll.
