LWD Full Form: Last Working Day

Last Working Day (LWD) is the final date on which an employee is expected to work for an organisation.

In simple terms

It is normally confirmed after resignation acceptance, notice-period calculation and handover planning. LWD may differ from the final settlement date or the date on which benefits and access are closed.

Example

If an employee resigns on 1 June with a 30-day notice period, their LWD may be 30 June, subject to approved leave or notice buyout.

Frequently asked questions

Can LWD change after resignation?

Yes. It can change when the employer and employee agree to adjust the notice period or handover plan.

Is LWD the same as settlement date?

No. Full and final settlement is often processed after the last working day.
